PCTE Administrative Team

The goal of PCTE is to support adult learners all the way through their training, from start to finish and that takes a team, working in sync. The Princeton Montessori Society Board of Trustees has appointed the following people who are responsible for the administration and educational quality of PCTE programs:

Michelle Morrison

Executive Director

Michelle Morrison, as Executive Director, provides visionary direction and business oversight for the training center and supports the Program Director. She joined Princeton Montessori School in 1990 and brings over twenty years of teaching at the elementary and middle school levels to this role as well as faculty mentor and parent educator. Michelle holds four American Montessori (AMS) Credentials: Elementary I, Elementary II, Secondary I and Administrator. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from University of Northern Colorado and a Master of Arts in Teaching from The College of New Jersey.

Gwen Shangle

Director, PCTE and Educational Programs

Gwen Shangle, as Program Director, represents PCTE in the Montessori community and leads on admissions, program offerings, course schedules, instructor and student relations, and all general aspects of training center operations. Since joining Princeton Montessori School in 1992, Gwen has  been a teacher at the Elementary I and II Levels, Director of Elementary programs, and Director of Student Services.  She has supported PCTE as an instructor and field consultant, worked to mentor teachers, developed parent and faculty education workshops, and presented at numerous state and national conferences. In addition to ensuring the administration and educational quality of PCTE programs, she also works to ensure the integrity of the Montessori curriculum across all programs in the Princeton Montessori School. Gwen holds a M.Ed. in Developmental Reading from the College of New Jersey and a BA in Psychology and Elementary Education from Georgian Court College, NJ. She holds an American Montessori Society credential in Elementary I through Seacoast Teacher Education, MA, and in Elementary II through the Princeton Center Teacher Education (PCTE), NJ and is certified by the State of New Jersey as a Teacher and as a Reading Specialist for Kindergarten-Eighth grade.

Banu Eser

PCTE Registrar and Business Associate

Banu Eser (1998) is currently responsible for supporting all business office functions and admissions processing for Princeton Montessori School and PCTE. Known as the “go to” person regarding billing or schedules, Banu enjoys working with the adult learners in the PCTE teacher training program.

Banu is a native of Ankara, Turkey, so she enjoys spending time visiting family in Turkey whenever she can.  Her son Mete, who currently is in college, attended Princeton Montessori School for 12 years.

Lisa Meisenbacher

PCTE Administrative Associate

Lisa L. Meisenbacher (2008) currently splits her time between leading a part-day Montessori Toddler classroom and supporting adult learners as they decide if admission to a PCTE Teacher training program is right for them. Lisa received a BA in Italian Literature from Rutgers University, NJ, and holds an American Montessori Society credential in Infant/Toddler through the Princeton Center Teacher Education (PCTE), NJ.

PCTE Instructors

The goal of PCTE is to support adult learners all the way through their training, from start to finish and that takes a team, working in sync. Our instructors understand the best practices in adult learning, and tailor their courses to the unique needs of adults. They work to inspire future Montessori teachers and encourage them on their journey of transformation.  All of our instructors are experts in the area they teach, and have significant classroom experience.
